The Slovak double-cross - a unique view of the town
In the locality of Spišská Nová Ves called Pieskovec, the symbol of Slovak statehood - a Slovak double-cross has been erected. It was built in 2008 to mark the 740th anniversary of the first written mention of the town and 15th anniversary of the Slovak Republic.
Undemanding walk with great views
The location, where the 10-meter double-cross is placed, offers a unique view of the High Tatras, the Levoča hills or the mountains of Branisko and is a popular place for outings. To get there you can use the green tourist trail starting in the town center near the Town Hall.
