Festival of Live Statues
Festival of Live Statues is the first festival of static art in Slovakia.
On 2 - 3 August 2024 the city center of Spišská Nová Ves will come alive once again and for two days we will have the unique opportunity to see the famous living statues Big names. Other artistic groups will feature in the accompanying program.
For the first time the festival took place in Spišská Nová Ves on 1 - 2 September 2017.
The idea to organize the Festival of Live Statues comes from the artistic director Radovan Michalov, who is also the author of the Big Names. Each year they are the main program of the Festival.
The Big Names project had its world premiere in March 2015 in Istanbul and has toured around the world - Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Qatar or closer to home Copenhagen and Paris are worth mentioning.
You could see Big Names in Slovakia in the final of the famous show Czecho-Slovakia has talent.
